Why is coconut oil the best oil for your skin?
Coconut oil is great as a skin moisturiser. A study shows that extra virgin coconut oil is as powerful and safe as mineral oil when used as a moisturiser, with absence of adverse reactions.

Work outside in rubber boots constantly in all seasons. Every summer feet itch and break out and peel.
If the Dr. prescribe that for you it means that you already have an infection. You need to treat the infection, and then work on preventing it from happening again. There are a variety of ways that you could try to prevent it, from changing socks during the day, to using foot powders, (along with changing socks if you’re able to); just taking your boots off as often as you can.

I thought Eucerin was the best mild hand cream for dry skin, but I put it on almost daily (sometimes a couple of times a day) and my hands are still crazy dry! Also, I hate the oily feeling after applying Eucerin because I feel like I don’t want to touch anything for a while after beause the oil gets on everything!! Please help.
One suggestion is Aveeno hand cream (not lotion). It does not have a greasy feeling, soaks in quickly, and works well to moisturize really dry skin. Another suggestion is Impruv cream, but it’s more expensive.

A blister is a small pocket of fluid in the upper skin layers and is one of the body’s responses to injury or pressure. The feet are particularly prone to blisters. Ill-fitting shoes or friction can damage the skin, and a blister forms to cushion the area from further damage as it heals. The body gradually absorbs the fluid as the underlying skin recovers. This can take around one week or so. Depending on the cause and location, a blister can range from the size of a pinprick to two centimeters or more in diameter. A blood blister is usually caused by a severe pinch or bruise to the skin that breaks the tiny blood vessels.

i have jock itch and hace use tea tree oil however it doesn’t seem to have much of an effect but stinging when i apply it. i am too embarrased to go to the doctor and was wondering if there are any creams i could buy over the counter. i do not want to ask for cream for jock itch and would rather ask for athletes foot cream however was wondering if they’re the same thing
Yes, it will. Both conditions are caused by the same basic fungus, and a cream that treats one can treat the other. At the store, look for Lotrimin cream. As a rule, the remedies for both jock itch and athlete’s foot are sold pretty near one another. The oil will not help, and it can just make matters worse. You also will not want a spray or powder, either. Get the cream and use it as directed. At the same time, you need to dry matters in the region out. It’s best if you wear boxer shorts and get some air flow going. At night, you need to go commando. After a shower, be sure you get everyone dried up well, and use the gentle heat setting of a blow dryer if you need to. The cream should make you more comfy in just a few days. And if it doesn’t, then just see the doctor. There’s no reason to be embarrassed by this, it is just something that can happen sometimes. The doctor won’t be seeing anything shocking, and may not even need to do much of an exam either. Try the Lotrimin cream first though.

Do items like hand cream and chap stick actually make your skin worse? My boyfriend just informed me that using these items too often makes your skin or lips worse and you become depended on them for soft skin or smooth lips. Is this true? I have had very bad dry skin since I was little.
Also does anyone have and good suggestions for chapstick?
I agree with your boyfriend. I never use to get chapped lips. I started putting on gloss (MAC-so it wasnt a cheap kind!) and my lips started getting chapped! I think they do get dependent on the extra moisture. I have totally had this convo with my boyfriend too!

Skin Care is an all over body process because your skin is the largest and most protective organ you have. Your feet are especially vulnerable because they take constant abuse from friction and elements but they do not produce sebum, which is your bodys natural oil. These organic skin care recipes for feet are fabulous when used in conjunction with a good foot care schedule. With all of our recipes, we urge you to buy organic ingredients because your skin absorbs pesticides and commercial chemicals from non organic products.

I’m trying to find my grandma a really nice hand cream to send back to Oz as a gift. Looking for something made in Europe or UK that she can’t get back home. I can only think of Molton Brown or L’Occitane. Anyone else got any ideas?
Vaseline Intensive Care is excellent but I don’t know if it’s sold in Oz.

I have athletes foot, and I am wondering what is the best product on shelves right now? Lamisal? Lotrimin? Tinactin? Gold bond? I’m not sure which one to buy, and all of them are around like $10 so I’m trying to purchase the one that will actually work instead of wasting my money.
Lamisal is the best

Although athlete’s foot is a common skin infection among people, it doesn’t mean that you just have to get used to it. Once you have developed the skin disease, prompt treatment should be administered properly so the infection does not get worse or before you can transfer it to other people.

One of the most common areas affected by fungi and bacteria is the feet. Since it prone to being warm and moist, the foot is usually home to the fungi known as “dermatophytes”-the kind fungi that causes athlete’s foot.

I’m stuck in Japan and I have athlete’s foot! Does anyone know the name of a brand (or better yet a picture of it?) of athlete’s foot cream here in Japan?
Go to a drugstore and say "mizu mushi" (athlete’s foot) "kusuri" (medicine) "kudasai" (please). Then specify saying, spray or cream.

So since 5th grade I started using Vaseline Intensive Care hand lotion for no reason I cannot even remember why I started using it or how it got out of control. I had to use it anytime I washed my hands or got in the pool or the shower… Around 7th grade I started using Curel lotion just as I used vaseline intensive care lotion. Now I am 23 yrs old and I can go through a large bottle of Curel in a few weeks with how much I put it on my hands and feet… If I wash my hands, shower, or get in the water in any way and do not put curel on my hands and/or feet its hard to describe but it makes me feel sick to my stomach with how my hands/feet/nails feel without it on. I feel like I have a bottle of curel sitting smack dab in the middle of my life style. Its aggravating and I have tried to stop using it but it feels impossible. I have tried googling to see if anyone else out there has the same ordeal but I can’t find anything. Does anyone have the same problem, know someone who does, or can suggest what it might be… I need to do something even if it means getting professional help it would just be nice to understand what it is before jumping into help… Thanks in advance

Try Neutrogena hand cream (not lotion). It is a very good cream for dry skin and helps it immediately. You only need a little of it and it does not leave your skin greasy or oily. My hands used to crack and bleed during the winter because they were so dry. They don’t do this anymore. Neutrogena cream is the best.

what r the things to do for daily skin care ( face, hands, feet)
my skin is very important to me. finally found a good routine. every morning i use a clean and clear face wash followed by a neutrogina toner and clinique repairwear daytime(with spf) cream. every few hours at work i apply hand cream. after work i change into my gym clothes and will put lotion on my arms and legs (i have dryer legs). When i shower i really scrub my face with a facial sponge or exfoliating scarf adn a clinique facial bar soap. then as soon as i turn the water off i rub lavander baby oil to my leg and body parts. then i use the toner on my face again followed by clinique nighttime repaiwear night cream and my anti-age eye cream. Then i use body lotion on my whole body and foot cream with big comfy socks.
Once a week i use a proactive facial mask.
finally after years of painful and embarrasing break outs and trying 100 differnet products i finally have been blemish free for 5 months!

Athlete’s foot is one of the most common feet problems in the country. And despite being named after an athlete, this fungal infection can actually affect everyone. Sportsmen, office people, old people, children, men and women… all are affected.

plz tell
Like Sweet/Jen I use the Satin Hands for my hands. In the pharmacy I wash my hands a lot so whatever lotion is handy by the sink I put on. When I do this I rub it well all over & into my cuticles, pushing them back as I do, as they have a tendency to dry out what with all the bottles I stick my hands into & papers I have to handle. I consider my feet tools of my trade since I’m on them all day, so I treat them as well or better than my hands. Every night I use the hasp and/or pumice stone on them to smooth down rough areans, lotion them and put socks on. In the morning in the shower I scrub them with some moisturizing body wash on an exfoliating sponge, then use a sea salt scrub by Arbonne to finish off and moisturize. It sounds like a lot of trouble but once you get into a routine it only takes a few minutes each day and your hands & feet will thank you. Hope this helps. (ps-also I try about once a month to get a spa pedicure professionally. I don’t get manicures as I prefer to keep my nails short so I take care of polish, etc, myself)

Not too long ago I found that my feet were quite itchy. There was some kind of redness in the creases between the toes. At times, in the middle of the day I felt like taking off my shoes and socks, just to scratch my feet. My husband told me that I had athletes foot. Even though I had not been to a gym or a locker room recently I was convinced that it could not have been an athletes foot. However my husband also had an athletes foot when he played football in college and my symptoms matched his.

Corns and calluses can cause great discomfort and are actually a very common problem. They can result from improperly fitted shoes, overly dry skin, foot movement or pronation problems and other reasons. Corns and calluses make walking and other similar activities painful and difficult. There are many over the counter remedies, but the problem is most do not work at all or marginally at best. Here is a treatment regimen that really works and is actually used by podiatrists in their offices.

I’m debating on getting a cream to soften my feet or a Ped Egg so I wanted to know if anyone had actually found a cream that works. If not, what about the bed "ped egg?" It seems everyone is making their own little hand held scraper thing so which one have you guys had the best experience with? Dr. Scholl’s, Trim, the original Ped Egg, another brand?

My hands are very dry and have been feeling dry for the past few days. The cream that I have now is not working and I would like to know what type of womens hand creams would be the best for this???
My sister-in-law is a dermatologist and she told me to try Eucerin Calming Creme. It’s fragrance free and if you use too much, it’s pretty greasy at first but it really helps! You might also try Aveeno products…they have quite a few of lightly scented creams with oatmeal in them that work pretty well too.
