Trying to keep life simple I, like a lot of men I guess, use a very basic routine of skin care: Washing my face and body with just a soap (Lever 2000 Aloe which I like) and once in a while using Nivea after shave balm for sensitive skin.
I do have a sensitive skin and I can’t shave (manual) more than twice a week or I’ll have a bad rash. I get a little bit of rash/pimples every time anyway and getting tired of it. To have a good skin regimen I know I have to do cleansing, exfoliating, toning and moisturizing whatnots; I don’t think I have to be metrosexual or fit whatever stereotype to worry about my skin. Keeping things simple is very important for me though.
I do heart organic products but don’t go out of my way to spend 10 times more just because a product has organic slapped all over it. I keep hearing Bee Royal and Burt’s Bees mentioned on Y! Answers…so guys and gals, any suggestion on simple and natural routine and product regimen for a good skin? (27, Caucasian)

Arbonne mens line!! My husband got those rashes every time he shaved too! The mens shaving cream is the best thing! He now can shave every day with no problem!

I’m obsessed with skin and it always bugged me that my brother never took care of his skin- basically because he didn’t know how to. He had blackheads everywhere and it was just getting gross. About a year or so ago I bought him a few items from the Clinique men’s line.. liquid wash extra strength and M-gel Lotion. His face has cleared up significantly! I also bought my boyfriend the pore minimizer from the womens line and it worked well for him!

I’m looking for the best skin care products for African-American skin. I hav dark blotches on my face and would like to even out my skin tone and make my skin smooth.

Are there any specific skin care routines that men need to follow to keep their skin healthy?
Do they need to do anything different from the common cleanse,tine,moisturize thing. Or you just let it be and stick with rough and tough going? Do you(men) care that much about skin and stuff or am i being too paranoid?

just cleanse and mouisturize…toner is a waste of time and usually dries skin out and since you don’t wear makeup (obviously) your face should be clean with the cleansing also be gentle when you cleanse and mouisturize! MEN MAY NOT CARE BUT A WOMEN SURE DOES..i know i appreciate and love it when a guy has clean and healthy looking skin…oh yeah and if you really want too take care of your skin use an spf mouisturizer in the morning

What kind of business men in particular use skin care products?

They say "metrosexuals" do but I think men care about their bodies too! I mean who wants to have acne and black heads? My husband uses the Mary Kay skin care line as its all fragrance free and "safe" for men to use. I love how soft his skin is and since he uses satin lips his lips are kissable and soft instead of chapped like they once were. He does not get those bumps from shaving or ingrown hairs now that he maintains his skin care routine. As a Mary Kay consultant I facial men all the time..I think you would be surprised who really does care for their skin.

I’ve got major dry skin and I’ve found Eucerin cream works really well. The stuff is really thick, but really works into the skin. I put them on my feet before I go to bed and wear socks over them.
I used to use regular medicated lotions but my skin was so dry that the dryness just ate it up in a few minutes and I had to apply more. Get some Eucerin cream.

Dermalogica’s Shave line is great. My brother uses it and has raved to me about how much better his shave is now. Also, the Dermaogica Shave line has cleansers that are good for men. We’re in the U.S., but I KNOW Dermalogica is in Australia. Definitely find it. Try Dermalogica.com or something.

do men and women have different skin needs? I’ve seen skin solutions in commercials to attract only women. would it be bad if a guy used it on his face?

The reason there are different face products is mainly the scent and men have a tendancy to have rougher drier skin than women. So they need a different type of moisturizer. Honestly you would have to tell me what kind of moisturizer was advertised and I can tell you if it is safe for your face.

I have really oily skin and quite sensitive skin. The only product i use right now is vaseline. But is there any other product that will help me get a healthy and clean looking skin? Can anyone recommend products for a man to improve his facial skin? For example, what brand of moisturiser is the best? Also, clay masks, etc?

I recommend Dermalogica. They have products suitable for all sorts of skin types and are really gentle but effective. Just go on their site and find a dermatologist, get your face ‘mapped’ and then the dermatologist will recommend the right products for your skin and give you some samples to try. I need help advertising a well known cosmetic and skin care line. through the internet, I have a website.

The bigger question here is, if this is a well know skin care line why does it need your help marketing to the gay population. Gay men are all about their images. And most of them always talk among themselves. If one guy has a good expierance with the product, then he’ll for sure share it with friends. If your only outreach is the internet then try advertising on gay web-sites. Put links out all over the place in gay sites.

Instead of getting your guy tube socks or cologne for his birthday, why don’t you go for something that will actually make an impact in his life? If your man is like my man, he has probably never used herbal skin care products in his entire life. That’s shocking to us women I know, but it’s perfectly normal for a man.
