i have normal to mildly sensitive skin, i am oily around my nose and that’s where i have blackheads. but i only have the occasional pimple here and there. so i have fairly normal and clear skin. what should my skin care routine be? and what products should i use? (please give me a URL.) THANKS!!!

Morning:
Cleanser, then spot-on treatment (if you have a pimple), then facial moisturizer with at least SPF30.

Cleanser: I recommend Clean & Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Facial Scrub

-or-
If you only want to use one, use Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash (see evening cleanser)

Spot-on Treatment: I use Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Eliminating Spot Gel
http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=100303&navAction=jump&navCount=6&nug=VPD&skuid=sku400752&id=prod400751

Daily Moisturizer: I am currently using Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 30
http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=308717&navAction=jump&navCount=7&nug=VPD&skuid=sku2250354&id=prod2250876

Evening:
Cleanser, then spot-on treatment if needed, then night cream/moisturizer.

Cleanser: I recommend Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash
http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=100306&navAction=jump&navCount=5&nug=VPD&skuid=sku304383&id=prod4383

Night creams are more moisturizing than daily moisturizer and they might make your skin look slightly oily. If you read labels very carefully, you should find one that won’t clog your pores (look for ‘non-comedogenic’). I am currently using Biore Day’s Night Overnight Moisturizer but I don’t really like it because it’s for people in their 20’s and I’m a teenager… Look for basic/original moisturizing creams from Olay but read carefully and make sure you’re not buying something anti-anging (if you’re a teenager like me).

Edit: Yeah, the person above me said toner. I have dry skin, so when I used a toner, it made my skin look horrible and flaky because it contained alcohol in it. I personally don’t think toner is neccessary but if you have oily skin and you want to use one, go for alcohol-free toners/astringents.

Once every 3-4 days:
Scrub (St. Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish & Blackhead Control)
http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=303538&navAction=jump&navCount=0&nug=VPD&skuid=sku307514&id=prod7514
You should really use a scrub every half week. Don’t use this one every day; the scrub has tiny beads and might damage your skin if you use it too often. You can also use a daily morning scrub/cleanser; Clean & Clear makes a lot of those which are more gentle and can be used every day (I use both a daily scrub and St. Ives). You can use these before or after you wash your face and before spot-on treatment or moisturizer.

Once every week:
Mask (Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque)
http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=100310&navAction=jump&navCount=1&nug=VPD&skuid=sku307481&id=prod7481
This masque is kinda like toothpaste for your face; it’s minty and leaves your face feeling cool. It dries up oil and stuff like that. Use this after you wash your face and before you use spot treatment and moisturizer.

Pore Strips (Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips, Nose)
http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=304171&navAction=jump&navCount=2&nug=VPD&skuid=sku1099105&id=prod1099115
Follow the instructions on the box VERY CAREFULLY. Minimum is 3 days but don’t overuse them; Most people use these once a week or once every 2 weeks. Use them after you wash your face with a cleanser and a scrub and before you put on spot-on treatment or moisturizer.

use a cleanser a toner and a moisturizer everyday those are the 3 steps to a overall clear face. since your skin is mildly sensitive don’t get a cleanser that’s to abrasive.

proactive , clinique and nutregena’s skin ID set all work good

Your main problem could be in the skin care products you are now using. My frank advice is to stay out of drug stores, departments stores and even health stores. The reason is that products found in those places usually have synthetic ingredients that can do much more harm than good. I know the price is cheap but that is because the ingredients are too and usually have very little if anything in them that really work. I get my skin care products from the same place my wife does. They are natural (no harmful synthetics) safe and really do work well.

Here is an article my wife thought you would be interested in. Also you asked for a URL: http://www.XtendSkinCare.com.

9 Skin Care Tips That Work – How Many Do You Use?

Trying to uncover that perfect skin care tip? Judging by how many search results pop up so is everybody else. There are plenty of places where you can find good skin care tips, and here are a few of them for you.

TIP #1: The number one skin care tip that I can give you is to make sure to keep your face clean. Your skin picks up dirt and pollutants from our surroundings. Wash your face thoroughly both in the morning and at night, in order to prevent dirty surface film from building up.

TIP # 2: Some other good tips about cleansing you face are certainly in order. You should try to avoid products which use harsh abrasives in order to clean your face. These products will only irritate your face, and the scrubbing action will act to encourage the skin to increase the production of sebum, thereby leaving your skin excessively oily.

TIP #3: Skin care tips involving moisturizing the skin are also very important. Try to avoid moisturizing products that contain mineral oil, or petrolatum. These substances act to clog your pores, leading to the development of blackheads and acne.

TIP #4: A good skin care tip would be to advise you to seek out a moisturizer which contains pure, natural ingredients. Look for products containing grape seed oil, avocado oil, olive oil, or jojoba wax as ingredients. Some of the better products will contain all of these organic substances, and many more.

TIP #5: Let me give you a couple of good skin care tips involving the use of a deep hydrating mask. There is an excellent product on the market today which does not leave you stuck with a blue or green face for 30 minutes. This mask is visible as a natural tone, and the best part is that it disappears right into your face, so you don’t have to worry about clean up.

TIP #6: The other skin care tip I was going to give to you involves the very same mask. The natural ingredients that make up this wonderful product make it far safer to use than most masks. The ingredients include avocado and macadamia oils, as well as New Zealand’s much talked about manuka honey.

TIP #7: Aside from the other ingredients, it would be a sound skin care tip to purchase any product which contains active manuka honey. This miracle is not only an excellent moisturizing ingredient, but it also supports skin cell renewal, assists in the formation of stronger collagen, and has high antioxidant properties. If that wasn’t enough, the honey is recognized worldwide for its astonishing antibacterial and antifungal properties.

TIP #8: Now, I have a few skin care tips regarding protecting ourselves from the sun’s harmful rays. Everyone knows that in order to afford your skin protection that it is valuable to use some sort of sunscreen. What a lot of people don’t understand is that the constant use of these UV blockers also prevents the formation of vitamin D.

TIP #9: My last skin care tip would be to say that a better idea may be to find a cream that contained an emulsified blend of Coenzyme Q10 and Natural vitamin E. It"s called H-EQ10. This blend would offer the skin considerable protection from the sun’s damaging rays, and as antioxidants, this unique blend would also act to repair the damage that the sun has already caused.
