How do to get rid of blackheads with dry skin?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 17th, 2010

I have horrible, deep blackheads around and on my nose. I have really dry skin so most cleansers and washes don’t work. I think it’s partly because I use a lot of moisturizer and it clogs my pores. But if I don’t, my skin is dry and flaky. What should I do?

This is the fastest, safest, low cost way. It’s amazingly effective.
Many have used on Answers and swear by it.(See my many B.A ).Use any essential oil – lavender, grape seed, coconut – none will cause breakouts or clog pores but will immediately heal dry flaking skin if thoroughly massaged into skin. Essential oils are perfect moisturizers and after trying you will use no other one. Blackheads: Simply rub them over and over many times with oil. Best to do for 3 minutes several times a day. They will start to diminish in first two days and in three or four days they will be gone. The ones on the nose. I found that we simply do not clean nose skin thoroughly. As soon as I started cleaning more thoroughly with a washcloth and just water mine went away. It’s best to do at night as cleaning can redden skin.

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 17th, 2010

My skin is naturally oily and I hate it when I look all greasy and shiny. Are there any products that can stop this ? Is there anything I can do about it ?

you probably already tried this but you could wash your face with dove soap (it will dry your skin) you could put powder on your face (makeup powder)

I’m am looking to buy a good quality skin care routine?

Posted in skin care tips  by admin
July 17th, 2010

I’m currently using the clinique 3 step range but want to try something new. I don’t care about price ( I’ve been paying heaps for clinique already ) I want something that is of a good high quality, prevents breakouts and leaves your skin glowing. High hopes i know.
I don’t break out often but have smal breakouts on my forehead every now and then.
Any suggestions would be great.

Elle the best thing I did for my skin was try Arbonne! Hands down the bet thing I have used! I loved it sooo much I decided i could even sell it! it totally worth a try!

Do any of you have recommendations on skin care products for oily skin?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 14th, 2010

Hi! I have oily skin, large pores, and lots of black heads on my nose and cheek area. I wanted to know about any skin care products that would help my skin to become less oily and that would help my pores to be unclogged so the appearance of the blackheads would be less, and maybe even shrink the pores too.
But I would like the recommended products to be reasonably priced, nothing pricey because I don’t have that kind of money to be buying expensive products.
thanks in advanced!

I have used a lot of different products for my oily skin. My favorite inexpensive find has been St Ives Medicated Apricot Scrub. Use every other day.

What is a good tanning accelerator lotion for sensitive skin?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 14th, 2010

I have naturally light skin that burns a bit then tans pretty well. However, my skin is sensitive and sometimes reacts to the tanning lotions. I definitely can’t use the heat/tingle ones. What is a good one for sensitive skin that works well and under $30 if possible. Thanks!!

Crystal I from Austrailan Gold. It has 21 nutrients for your skin and is excellent for sensitive skin. It sells for $100 at salon but you can find it for $30 on Ebay. Your skin is worth this investment!

What can I do to get rid of dry skin on my face?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 14th, 2010

No matter what soap I use, what moisturizer I use, or how hard/soft I wash my face, I always have dry skin on my face. When I wash it, it goes away for a hour at the most. What can I do to get rid of dry skin on my face? Any tips? Thanks.

Try Cocoa Butter lotion. (Palmer’s is great.) It might take more than one day for it to work.

How do I get rid of oily skin?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 14th, 2010

I have super oily skin. I wash my face like 2-3 times a day and I use an oil free moisturizer. After I apply make up, with in an hour or less my face is shiny as can be. I can’t stand it. Most of it is because I am mexican/italian so I have naturally oily skin. Is there something I can do with out drying my face out completely? HELP please.

Apply gram powder (powder of gram grains) mixed with a little milk and turmeric of the skin before or instead of soap at the time of bath. This will take away the oil from skin and it will be soft and silky. Try it and see the results in a couple of days.

Whats your skin care routine? And what products do you use?

Posted in skin care tips  by admin
July 14th, 2010

Does your skin care routine actually work for you? i have combination skin, ive tried clearasil, neutrogena, garnier, spectro, clean and clear, and biore, and nothing seems to make my skin extremely clear, i get the occasional pimple, but when i do its always gross lol but anyways tell me what works for you! thanks :)

I have the same skin problem, and recently I decided to switch from noxzema to clean and clear. I basically just bought the morning burst facial scrub and the acne prevention moisturizer. And you know what it works great. You just have to keep up with it everyday. I wash my face every morning and apply the moisturizer. It will get rid of all of your pimples by the second or third use. However, that may be for me because I don’t use the moisturizer the 2 to 3 times a day that is recommended. I also get lazy and stop use like for a day or two and I guarantee you will see pimples or at least feel them on your face.

Do all skin care products work for white and black people.?

Posted in skin types  by admin

I’m just curious

They can. It’s not so much about the color of one’s skin, but the type. White skin probably needs more sun protection, though.

What is the best lotion for very dry skin?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 11th, 2010

I have very sensitive dry skin and this winter is really harsh on my skin right now. I’ve been using gold bond lotions but my skin does not seam to really absorb it. Looking for products I can buy at a drug store or mall. Thanks!
Also, please don’t suggest Vaseline or coco butter I dont want to be untouchable and greasy!
Eucerin has several lotions, what one do you use?
Thanks Karen, but I’m looking for body not face.

Unscented Lotions work the best.

What can I do to get rid of my oily skin?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 11th, 2010

My skin is extremely oily. I have to wash it 3 or 4 times a day to get rid of the oil. It’s all over my face, not just in certain areas and it even gets into my hair line. I have to keep my hair in a pony tail to keep my hair from looking dirty throughout the day. I’d like to let my hair down sometimes! What can I do to keep it from getting so oily or getting oily so fast? I’ve tried oil reducing face wash and oil blotting sheets but the oil sheets cant get the oil out of my hair line, which is what I’m mostly concerned about. Help!

I also have oily skin, and I use Pore Minimizer T-Zone shine control from Clinique..it works pretty well.

Is this a good daily skin care routine?

Posted in skin care tips  by admin
July 11th, 2010

this is my daily skin care routine for my face, but is it good?
So first I wash my face with Neutrogena foam acne wash. then I scrub with Neutrogena Daily Gentle Face Scrub for blackheads. Then I apply a toner, I use Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner, the lastly I moisturize with Neutrogena SPF 15 moisturizer. So does this sound like a good daily routine? is there something I can change, add? suggestions?

it totally depends on your skin type. if you have realllly oily skin, then that should be fine. but if you have normal or dry skin, i’d cut down a bit. too much cleansing/exfoliating can be very drying, which is okay if you have oily/acne-prone skin, but if you dry your skin too much, then that will actually cause MORE acne. when your skin is stripped of all it’s oil, it goes into an extreme ‘oil-producing mode’ to make up for all of the lost oil. so you’ll actually end up with more acne that way.everybody’s skin is different though, so it might not affect you the same way that it would affect another person. it sounds like a pretty good routine though, so if i were you, i’d stick with it for a couple of weeks to see what it does for your skin. if your skin is too dry after a while, then limit yourself to either the foam wash OR the scrub. goood luck! (:

What is, hands down the best men’s skin care system, potion, etc?

Posted in skin care for men  by admin
July 11th, 2010

As men we are always told a bar of soap and scrub your face and be done with it. I once used a facial wash system on my face for a few weeks and was amazed how smooth and clear my skin got. I got away from it and for years, I’ve just been doing the bar of soap thing.

Transitioning natural black hair…help please!!!! Skin care help too :-)?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 8th, 2010

So I am 16 years old, and on/ around my birthday (Oct 2010) it will have been 2 years since I began my hair journey. I don’t want to do the big chop, and even though I’ve had some results they aren’t really moving along. I was doing some research and I found out that the products I have been using are a no-no. Also, I mix-match my products because I can’t find a complete hair line that is cheap (it is a recession lol). I use nature fusion moisture balance by Pantene and sulfur8 oil moisturizing creme. For conditioner I use Dr. Miracle, which I’m out of so I’m not sure what ingredients it has. The Shampoo contains sodium laureth sulfate, and the creme has mineral oil and petrolatum. I also have dandruff so if you could mention any cheap, organic products that would be good for that I would REALLLLLLYYYYYYY APPRECIATE IT!!!!!! Also I am going out of town soon and I need some cute hairstyle ideas that will last for about a month and can be washed. I haven’t really gotten used to doing my own hair, and as embarrassing as it is, my mom does my hair, lol. Also, I am trying to find some cheap, natural skin products to give me a glow and even my skin tone. Right now I have about 5 diff tones, any suggestions. Besides that I need a really good, affordable chap stick and lip gloss! The products I use always end up crumbling and there is white flakes more or less. I usually use chapstick, blistex, carmex(which def dries my lips even worse), and for lip gloss I use beautyruch from Victoria’s Secret or Neutragena. I don’t mean to seem cheap but it is a recession and my mom is a single parent. Thanks in advance!!!!

i would not worry about sounding cheap. all those products are no-nos. dr. miracle made my transitioning natural hair too strong and tough, so did the expensive all natural carol’s daughter. pantene is probably not for your hair type. try what i use shea butter and olive oil/ or jojoba oils and shea butter shampoo, the entire line can be bought at wal-mart or target . each product is under $6. shampoo and leave the cream conditioner in with a little mix of the olive, depending on the condition of your hair, do two -strand twists while damp in small to medium sections (your choice ) all over your head. let it air dry.you can do that the day before your trip. the morning of take them apart touching each tip and hairline with the cream, then put an old-school fabric headband to pull the hair back and just let them stick up all over. now that’s a look. use vitamin e for lips its in a lipstick tube.use nice oils and shea butters on your skin only. there are trial sizes of most anything .Oh yeah don’t pull the strands all the way apart they might frizz. don’t ever comb them out. use your fingers only.

How to get rid of dry skin on my face?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 8th, 2010

A couple days ago, I started to find dry skin on my face. It is on both of my cheeks, and spreading to my chin and above. How can I get rid of this dry skin? I’ve been trying Vaseline, and it reduces the dry skin, but I still have it.

at night and in showers, exfoliate your skin, with washes that have almost like those little sand grain like bits in them. then every night, or as often as you can, moisterize. yeah, vaseline is good. but seriously, do it as much as you can. it might take a while, but it will go away.

what is the best makeup for combination oily skin?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 8th, 2010

I have already tried bare minerals it doesn’t work for me…. I have very sensitive skin that breaks out very easily. My skin is very oily and I do apply a non oil based foundation and powder as makeup. I need good coverage that won’t leave my skin looking like I just dipped it in a grease bucket. I always have to constantly blot my face so that it doesn’t look oily. I need desperate help. If you really know what your talking about please give me advice. Thanks!

If you’re on a budget, I recommend Covergirl liquid foundation. It’s $8. It lasts for 6-8 hours and is sweat proof. I have oily skin and it works great for me. I also have the pressed powder foundation to touch up on shiny areas like my forehead every few hours.

What would be a good skin care routine?

Posted in skin care tips  by admin
July 8th, 2010

I’m 15, and I’ve never done much in the way of my skin, except washing it lightly in the shower. However, lately it’s started to look slightly splotchy/uneven, and I’ve started to break out a bit. What routine should I follow each day to ensure that I have nice looking skin even as I get older?

Wash your face with plain water. Wash cloth with hot water then with cold water. dry it then use a little moisturizer on it . do this mornings and at nite you’ll see the differance within a week. Your skin gets oily because its dry, so it produces the oil that clogs your pores. so if you wash and moisturizer you’ll have health skin.
