What is a good moisturizing face wash for very sensitive skin?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 5th, 2010

I have extremely sensitive skin that is also very dry. I have tried many different cleansers and often the ones that claim to be gentle cause my skin to have an allergic reaction. I am not too concerned about price as long as it works well.

i have this stuff its the acne control one for sensitive skin.
it worked for me very well :)
and it also tones down redness if you have any

What is the best foundation for dry skin?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 5th, 2010

I have dry skin and prone to spots when the weather is warm and would like to know what product to use that doesn’t irritate the skin too much and how often you should apply foundation?

I have super duper dry skin and is prone to break outs during summer and I get red spots at times also.

What should I do about oily skin and which lotion or product should I use?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 5th, 2010

Every morning I put cocoa butter on my face and since I ride the bus, I wait in the sun a lot and my skin gets oily (especially my nose). What product should I use so that my skin won’t be oily or is there a lotion I can switch to? I hate oily skin because it makes me look less attractive in my opinion. Any suggestions?

well don’t use cocoa butter. i use that for my body cause it keeps my skin even but i don’t think it should be used on the face. as for me i have dry skin and i used clean and clear advantage oil free acne moisturizer and it made my face dry. so maybe if you use it on oily skin it will work better. and clear acne.

What do you need to eat to have healthy skin?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 5th, 2010

Can someone give me some guide lines on what i should eat everyday to have healthy skin? I also have mild acne. Thanks!

According to this Neutrogena pamphlet I have "borrowed" from my girlfriend, what you eat does not determine how healthy your skin can be. Acne’s got less to do with what you put in your body than what’s happening to your body. Hormones are a major player, that’s why so many teens get it. During teen years hormones called androgens increase and make pouches deep inside your skin called "sebaceous glands and pump out oil. That’s what causes acne because they clog your pores.

What are good skincare products or tips for dry and sensitive skin?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 2nd, 2010

I have dry patches on my forehead ,nose, and eyelids (is that weird?) if that says anything about my skin. As I said I also have sensitive skin that turns red and irritated easily. I want to find a good skincare routine to help my skin. I dont want to spend a whole bunch of money on anything either. I really want to get rid of the dryness or most of it. THANKS!

The Moor Spa range sounds perfect for you, in peticuler the Nourishing Moisturiser is desgined for people who have dry skin but is also less irritent then water on your skin, it might be a good idea to try the dry skin pack with that you get 4 difrent products to help your dry skin :)

My skin is so dry and I hate putting lotion on. Any body wash that will take care of my dry skin?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 2nd, 2010

My skin is very dry and I hate wearing lotion and putting it on. Is there a body wash that will moisturize our skin enough so that I don’t have to wear lotion. I don’t like oily feeling left behind so none of those.

Try Lush’s Buffy the Backside Slayer. make sure you step out of the shower water when you use it or it will melt. Just a few swipes across your skin then rinse. It exfoliates and moisturizes, you will not need a moisturizer after using it. I use a moisturizer only on days when I do not use Buffy. It does leave you skin a bit tacky but not so that it is uncomfortable. You could also try Lush’s The Olive Branch body wash which has olive oil in it and is quite moisturizing.

What can you do to prevent oily skin after applying makeup?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 2nd, 2010

In the morning I go through my daily routine of putting on makeup, doing my hair, etc. But i notice throughout the day that my skin gets very oily and my foundation wears away. I usually put on a little foundation for a good base and then top it off with a powder. Does anyone have any suggestions that would help prevent this?

you could use Balancing Moisturiser (Young Skin or Under Make-Up) or you could try Hollywood Oil Blotting Paper (Take The Shine Away Without Removing The Makeup) heres links to both i hope they help you :)

What are some good vitamins to take for healthy skin?

Posted in skin types  by admin
July 2nd, 2010

What are some good vitamins to take for healthy skin and hair? I know Biotin and Vitamin E are good ones, as well as Fish Oil, but what else?

Vitamin A which you can find in bananas and green vegetable or you can always buy a supplement.
I know that flax seeds are really good for you too.
Omega three’s although not a vitamin are really really good for you body! I suggest buying a supplement of them but you can look up what they are in. I know theyre in fish. These will help with acne and get rid of scars because they clean the body of any bad agents. Good luck!

How do I get rid of dry skin on my face so I can wear foundation?

Posted in skin types  by admin
June 28th, 2010

My face has horrible patches of dry skin that can’t be seen if I’m not wearing foundation. But I’m very pale and my skin is not good – especially through winter, so I like to wear foundation when I go out. I don’t wear it all the time, so I’m not making the situation worse by wearing it. I’ve tried E45 and exfoliating but it just looks terrible when I put foundation on! What can I do?

Moisturise before bed and when you get up. Also moisturise before you put your make up on, but leave it a couple of minutes to sink in. You will find the make up goes on a lot smoother. Keep exfoliating, but make sure it’s not too rough on your skin as dry skin is often sensitive too.
Good moisturisers are Clinique or Nivea.
The thickness of vaseline or 8 hour cream guarantees to intensely moisturise your skin however it could leave you with a shiny face, as will baby oil. (Combat this with a powder foudation)
Another trick is to mix your foundation with a moisturiser as it will go onto your skin a lot easier. However adding moisturiser will dilute your foundation so you may need to apply concealer or undiluted foundation to certain parts of your face depending on what your skin is like.
Good luck, don’t stress, it’s only the harsh winter weather!!

Sorry if I’m wrong right.

What vitamins are the best for a clear and healthy skin?

Posted in skin types  by admin
June 28th, 2010

Do you know any supplements or pills that will support a clear and healthy skin, and tips for getting and maintaining a beautiful, glowing skin? (I need these for my sista)

Drinking lots of water that is pureified or spring water is important, also exercise because healthy skin comes from good circulation. For vitamins, Vitamin A & E is great as well as selenium. The amino acids can also be bought as supplments and lysine is particularly good.

What is your skin care routine?

Posted in skin care tips  by admin
June 28th, 2010

I like hearing about how others care for their skin and what their favorite products are. I personally love the Clinique 3-Step System. What is your daily facial routine?

Wake up in the morning, and exfoliate my skin with Clean and Clear blackhead scrub, and then I put some dear moisturiser on it that my dad got me, and that’s about it really? lol

Anyone know of a good sensitive skin deodorant for women?

Posted in skin types  by admin
June 24th, 2010

I’ve always had sensitive skin, the only types of deodorant I could use were Dove and Adidas. Now both of them have been irritating my skin, and I don’t know what else to try. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Suave naturals. Usually I can’t use scented deodorants at all, but I use the sweet pea and violet scent. It has been very gentle. Smells amazing!

No moisturizer seems to work for my dry skin?

Posted in skin types  by admin
June 24th, 2010

I have really bad dry skin on my face. I get it in my T-zone the most ironically. I drink approximately 2 liters of water a day. I exfoliate and use moisturizers for extremely dry skin. However, about a minute or so after applying moisturizer, the same area feels itchy and dry and I have to apply more. I also have dry flaky skin that occurs in my eyebrows. I don’t know what else to try or is it a more serious problem?

can be eczema I suggest to go a dermatologist
I suggest to use a face cream is more richer great for dry skin
Grisi aloe vera face cream is good soothing cost $5 at rite aid.
also St Ives collagen face cream leaves skin dewy cost $5.
Use coconut oil at night you find at health stores.

What is the best foundation for oily skin but is also anti-aging?

Posted in skin types  by admin
June 24th, 2010

I have oily skin but I am also trying to fight wrinkles as I’m in my earlly 30s. Luckily I have never tanned so I am winning the fight so far, but I want to use whatever products I can to help. Any suggestions for a good foundation that will fight acne and aging?

You might want to consider a mineral makeup as mineral powder settles over lines, not into them.
