What can I do to get rid of my oily skin?

My skin is extremely oily. I have to wash it 3 or 4 times a day to get rid of the oil. It’s all over my face, not just in certain areas and it even gets into my hair line. I have to keep my hair in a pony tail to keep my hair from looking dirty throughout the day. I’d like to let my hair down sometimes! What can I do to keep it from getting so oily or getting oily so fast? I’ve tried oil reducing face wash and oil blotting sheets but the oil sheets cant get the oil out of my hair line, which is what I’m mostly concerned about. Help!

I also have oily skin, and I use Pore Minimizer T-Zone shine control from Clinique..it works pretty well.

heres some information about oily skin:

First of all stop excessive washing. Cleansing your face twice a day is adequate. When you wash your face you strip away the oil temporarily. The problem with overwashing and using harsher products like benzoyl peroxide to dry up your face, it that often the skin becomes overly dried, irritated and inflammated which actually results in a nice breeding ground for bacteria. The result is that you may end up with worse acne problems. In the CaraMina line, the ultimate cleanser along with the Moisture Balance Creme has helped many with oily skins bring them into better control. Oily skin is usually a result from the skin over producing sebum (oil), and often it is a result of a hormonal imbalance. Androgens (also called "make" hormones) are usually responsible for stimulating overproduction of sebum. While it is difficult to control the hormonal cause, there are things that can be done to "manage" this condition.

You shouldn’t wash your face more then 2 times a day. 1-2 times a day is enough. Washing your face more then 3 times a day could product more oil on your face. Go to Walmart and get Clinac O.C. It works well for oily skin. Also, get a shampoo such as Selsun Blue. I use it and it works well. If this doesn’t work go see a dermatologist. They will examine your skin and give you something that works. Goodluck
