What should I look for in skin care products?

Well I’m 13 and I’m going out to buy some skin care things soon and all this stuff all over the net just confuses me :(

Well i have black heads on my nose and mostly normal skin with the occasional pimple obviously. I also have bags under my eyes which aren’t dark but I inherited them from my mum apparently, I get a good 8 hours of sleep a day :)

So what products or what ingredients in the products should I look for?

Well congrats on having normal skin (everyone wants that)! I loveeee to buy stuff for my skin, and I’m around that age, so I think this might help:

Start off with a gentle daily cleanser to use twice a day (once in the morning, once at nighttime). I like using natural/organic cleansers. And avoid soap bars for your face, they’re usually too harsh.

But for your blackheads, try getting a scrub, I recommend St Ives. Fresh Skin scrub. I use it on my black head on my nose and on my cheeks, and they’re gone in one use. I swear by it.

Also, pick up a good moisturizing cream, not to thick though. And if you’re out in the sun alot, try getting a sunscreen..preferably one that has sun-protection above 30 (the sun proctetion number should be big, and bold on the bottle)

And for your eyes, you shouldn’t worry about them (everyone has them), but if you get self conscious about them, try getting a concealer that has a yellow-y tint to cancel out the purpleness.

Oh and for pimples, don’t really worry if you get them once in a while, but I would just cover it up with a concealer.

But when you pick up a product, avoid anything that says ’sulfates’ because sulfate dries out your skin, and look for ones that say non-comedogenic, so they won’t clog pores.

Hope this helps!!
